Claude W, one of the contributors at Pam's House Blend, wrote this compelling and disturbing article about the promotion of bareback sex in gay porn. It's important for everyone, gay and straight, to know and to pass it on. For a time I was attempting to make a little extra money by being an adult entertainment affiliate and I noticed this disturbing trend. There is also a market for it in the straight adult market, bragging about videos where men have sex with women without condoms.
The only place ever for unprotected sex is in a 100% monogamous relationship. Otherwise, as Shock G said back in the 1990's, don't go anywhere without your Jim Hat.
I found out about this ad on The Sexist, which is where I also initially placed the following comments.
I hope it doesn't make me sound sexist to say I like it! Strangely enough, the reason is not because there is the possibility of seeing attractive men in the buff. It's because I do have a lot of gay male friends, and this sort of ad will appeal with them. Many of the older ones are involved in monogamous relationships, but the younger guys, who are the ones who might be tempted to play without protection "just this once" are the ones that are going to enjoy a production of this nature. And if it helps them think twice about using a condom and staying safe, I'm all for it.
Just thinking that young hetero guys could learn important things from this production as well. They need to think about safe sex too, and about preventing unwanted pregnancy, although of course this issue is not addressed in this video. If a guy of whatever sexual orientation views the uncensored video, it shows him how to put on a condom, which is probably something that many young men would be embarrassed to ask their family doctor. I have a twenty year old son, and I'm going to tell him about this video and see what he thinks. Honestly, I think it's too bad that it couldn't be shown to students at a high school level. This is the age at which they really need to learn this stuff, and the humorous approach could also help young gay men realize they don't need to be ashamed about their sexual orientation. There is a lot to like about this production!
Do not bother whining at me about how your freedom of speech is being violated should I refuse to publish your vile comments. This is not a democracy. I have every right to refuse to publish any comment that I deem rude, spammy, or just because the moon is blue, it's Tuesday, and I'm in the middle of a mixed episode. You have no recourse to compel me to change my mind. Disagreeing with me, as long as it is done politely, is not troll behavior. Calling me or one of my visitors names is. Cutting me as a person down is. Crass, undesired sexual remarks are. Racist and sexist rants are. And finally, this is not your neck of the woods, it is mine. You can rant all you want about whatever you want on your own site. I don't have to give voice to it here if I don't want to. My procedure for handling trolls is as follows: I ridicule you once on public display. I ignore you forever after. If you are a troll from my past, do not even bother. I'm not even going to give you the one-time ripping. Your comments will simply be eliminated. As to apologies for past shitty behavior, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I'm tired of being shamed. In other words: Troll? Fuck off and die. This place is for real people. Not for the likes of you.
